The challenge

In 2023, DOMINION GREEN launched its strategy to position itself as a leader in energy storage in Spain, incorporating innovative solutions that improve energy management and the integration of renewables.

This goal was achieved with the installation of the first storage battery in a photovoltaic plant in Spain in 2025, a milestone that paves the way for the expansion of this technology in other parks and international markets.

Plus of DOMINION

At the San Pelayo plant, located in Valdorros (Burgos), we have developed DOMINION's first photovoltaic plant that combines photovoltaic generation and storage. This project has been managed entirely by the DOMINION GREEN team, from the greenfield development phase to operation and maintenance, covering all stages.

Construction of the plant was completed in 2023, when production and operation began, marking a milestone in our strategy to integrate renewable energy with innovative energy storage solutions.

The plant has:

• Installed power: 3.49 MWp
• Total number of modules: 5,292
• Storage capacity: 1 MWh (first installation of its kind in Spain)
• Estimated annual production: approximately 4,250 MWh

This project reinforces our commitment to technological innovation and sustainability, positioning DOMINION GREEN in the energy storage solutions market. In addition, it forms part of a broader strategy that includes the installation of more plants using this technology in Spain and its expansion into international markets such as the Dominican Republic.

Results

The San Pelayo plant not only contributes to the efficient integration of renewable energies, but also marks another step forward in the Spanish energy sector. Thanks to this initiative:
