The Challenge
Equipping TMB’s depots with a robust, efficient, and scalable electric charging infrastructure for its growing fleet of electric buses, aligned with the goals of sustainability, emissions reduction, and the electrification of Barcelona’s urban public transport system.
The project had to ensure maximum operational reliability and the capacity for future expansion in anticipation of the expected increase in electric vehicles.

DOMINION carried out the comprehensive execution of the project, covering everything from engineering and civil works to painting, electrical installation, and communications. High-power chargers of up to 500 kW were installed, powered by medium voltage (15 kV), along with 630 kVA transformer stations designed and adapted to TMB’s specific needs.
Multidisciplinary coordination, adherence to deadlines, and attention to detail at every stage were key to ensuring operational efficiency.
Results
Thanks to this initiative, DOMINION has transformed TMB’s depots in Barcelona into a national benchmark for electric bus charging infrastructure, strengthening its role as a technological partner in the transition toward cleaner, more sustainable mobility.
